Table Numbers!

My sister and I worked our little fingers down to the bone on these!!
We used 4.5″ x 6.5″ card stock that came in a value pack of 100.

and we used a 12″x12″ paper pad full of different patterned papers

We also bought a stencil to use for the numbers,  we would either cut out the numbers or use glitter on them.  (before using the stencil we, of course, cut the patterned paper down to size)

We printed off  the word “table” in a pretty font and then traced it onto the patterned paper and then WA-LA!

The value card stock was around $4.99 (Micheal’s)

Patterned Paper Pad was $9.99 (w/ coupon at JoAnn’s)

The stencil was around $4 (Micheal’s)

And the glitter was $3. (Walmart)

Total cost for 45 table numbers, 5 family tables and 3 for the wedding party table: $22.98!!

And it only took us a little over a weekend to do it (with breaks:))

Sorry the picture of the finished product is so blurry, camera phone…

hope you like em

Bright Colors on Gloomy Days

This winter has been weirdly wet and rainy. The few normal winter days have been bitterly cold. I’ve been so tired of dark drab colors, so a couples weeks ago I bought a ton of bright sunny sweaters from the thrift store.
Believe me, I would do anything to get out of those icky weather blues. These sweaters really helped to brighten my day.

DIY : Headband

I found a skirt in a bag of freebies from my mom, that didn’t fit me well and for some reason smelled like old lady… however i liked the print and thought I could somehow use it as a refashion.
Im sorry, I forgot to take a before photo. But here is my DIY project I did, using the chiffon skirt liner.

image

1. After removing one of the liners seams, I opened it up and cut 3 long strips out of it (verticly).

image

2. Next, I stitched all 3 stips together at one end.

image

image

3. I loosely braided them together.

image

4. I sewed the other end together.

image

5. I looped one end around a poneytail holder (about an inch) and stitched the matieral together. And then I did the same thing on the other side.

Mens Wedding Fashion: the Tuxedo

The Classic Tuxedo. This is the default look for most grooms and their groomsman.

However,  there are many more options for our men. Our Grooms need to be able to share the spotlight on our special day.  And having options really lets them express themselves.

Upscale Black Tuxedo:

Now this is a much better option than the simple tuxedo, shown first. Most tuxedo rental companies offer a wide variety of upscale tuxedos at really reasonable prices. So don’t think its out of your budget. Shop around, find out whose got the best prices. You don’t have to buy the tux. Click Here for an article on renting vs. buying your wedding day tux.

The Ultra Formal Tux:

This is tuxedo is great for the fairytale wedding:) I think it looks best when the bride is in that beautiful Cinderella ballgown. Love it:)

The White Tux:

Ive seen a lot of men go for the white tuxedo, to match the wholesomeness of their bride-to-be. And this is actually a less expensive option. However the white tux isn’t as fashion-forward as I would like.

A Casual Option:

A lot of couples have chosen a more casual setting, giving a relaxed look and feel to their wedding. This khaki suit is a nice look, if that’s what your going for. Ive also seen the groom is a very light khaki pant and vest, but no jacket. Click Here to view one from J.Crew.

The Default Groomsman:

Many couples like the groomsman to match the bridesmaids in a very obvious way. There’s nothing wrong with that. But, its very common and expected. Around here, you can go to Davids Bridal for bridesmaids dresses and then to Men’s Warehouse and get an exact match in vests and ties for the groomsman. That’s great, and I think it works out in most weddings. However, we chose another option.

The Grey Tux:

This is the tuxedo that Quinton and I chose for him and all the groomsman to wear for our wedding. Grey has a really been our favorite. And I think the guys are going to look fantastic:) They will have on periwinkle ties, to coordinate with the bridesmaids.

Hope this was some how helpful:)

Always,

m:)
